BIOGRAPHICAL DATA:

 

Jerry Tobias is an author and conference/seminar/event speaker with over thirty years of speaking experience. He flew everything from small aircraft to Boeing 747s during a thirty-eight-year career as a U. S. Air Force, corporate and airline pilot. He has been in 32 countries, has lived in 16 different locations (including Hawaii and Israel), and has spoken internationally as an aviation safety and human factors specialist.

Jerry now writes for numerous professional aviation periodicals, and leads Patient and Caregiver Support TM (see print resources at www.pacsupport.org),
a patient-guided resource and support center dedicated to providing Connections, Assistance, Resources and Encouragement (CARE) for patients, caregivers, spouses and families. He has also published an inspirational book called "The Little Red Book about Life," and writes an email newsletter entitled "Observations from the Flightdeck," in which he shares life lessons learned through aviation.

“The View from 30,000 feet” - In this important PowerPoint message, Jerry introduces concepts from aviation that clearly illustrate the biblical path to a relationship with God, and reveal to audiences exactly where they are in their relationship with Him. In other presentations, Jerry addresses important and timely subjects such as pain and suffering, fear, trust and forgiveness.

 

Perspective, Purpose and Priorities- This presentation addresses the importance of perspective, the significance of purpose, and the power of priorities. Sharing from his own background and experiences, Jerry speaks to these topics from the context of aviation, cancer, people and life, and makes them applicable to each listener’s roles and relationships. This discussion is pertinent for civic organizations and other groups.

 

Writing for Purpose and Pleasure- Jerry discusses writing as a means of encouragement and legacy, and shares how important, purposeful and easy it is for everyone to record thoughts, observations, personal history, stories, etc., for themselves and/or for others (children, grandchildren, friends, etc.). He provides examples and also offers a few simple tools that anyone can use to get started. This presentation has also been enjoyed by civic and numerous other groups.


Aviation presentations -
Jerry enjoys talking with pilots and aviation enthusiasts in just about any setting, and is a part of the EAA Speakers Bureau. He speaks to these and other aviation-interested groups on various topics, including aviation history, aviation safety, cockpit culture and professionalism, human factors, overcoming human error, and error management issues.

Jerry lives in Omaha, Nebraska, has been married to his wife, Carolyn, for forty-two years, and has two grown children and three grandchildren. He is also a cancer survivor.
